“I’m a foolish old man who’s been drawn into a wild goose chase by a harpie in trousers and a nincompoop.”
Though I doubt they can–hell, they can’t even sound coherent with professional NYT writers at their beck and call–when the money finally runs out for the AGW scam, I would like to hear just one of the profits prophets of Thermageddon admit their folly as eloquently as Rooster Cogburn.
But who is the “harpie” and who the “nincompoop…?”
I’d have to go with Gore for “harpie” because of the whole sex poodle/chakra thing, and the fact that he is only a tool–a rich one, I’ll grant you–of Soros and Strong.
And while there is a cacophony of candidates for “nincompoop,” I’m going with Hansen. He is so wedded to his Earth = Venus idiocy that each new reproof drives him further around the bend from reality. At this point, he is openly falsifying temperature records to support his fantasy and pretending–or deluding himself–that no one notices.
Then again “nincompoop” typically implies innate retardation rather than late onset insanity. Ah well, I’ve made my selections. What. Say. You?

I say : never quote from the new rooster cogburn again! I assume that’s where the line came from as i do not remember it from the real version!
I’m thinking Napoleonito and O’Bullshit, but that’s just me. Gore is just an idiot.
John, the dialog in the second version was extremely well handled. Not a single contraction uttered by any character.
Yeah, it was missing the Duke, Duvall and Dennis–but it was good.
Saw that this a.m., Sanyo. It was all over the place. Heh.
SG you are so eloquent. Be’est thou a Thespian?
The new True Grit was very well done. I haven’t seen old west dialogue done right in decades. As for globull warming? Please. I have friends in Canada that pray for it every winter.
I have been know to strut and fret my hour upon the stage, rik. But no more.
Just sound and fury these days, don’t ya know.
I bet they were reading your blog from day one, CB, and finally decided to admit what you were saying all along.
I concur with your selections, SG.
Michael Mann has to be the Batman villain King Tut; vain, pompous, deluded, vindictive.
RB–he has the beard…but he’s obviously not as talented as Victor Buono.
SG — Nobody is as talented as Victor Buono — witness Mann’s repeated useless attempts at paraphrasing King Tut’s famous speech:
“O miseracordia, my queen is disloyal, my hand-maiden’s a traitor, and everyone’s being mean to me.”
As you say, RB, nobody is as talented as Victor Buono.
