Skynet One Step Closer To Self-Awareness

I didn’t know Northrop was a subsidiary of Cyberdyne Systems. Fully autonomous Hunter-Killer? Here you go…

Speaking of Skynet…Does the Navy use GMail? Just a thought.

Anyway, on the upside, at least this drone can’t get disciplined for taking out political correctness-protected targets in Afghanistan. On the downside, it can’t be disciplined for taking out unprotected targets in Altoona either. So is it the T-101 or the ED-209…?

  1. These new fully autonomous drones can’t be any worse than the semi-autonomous drones that elected Obama.

  2. Actually, Eric, this one could conceivably correct that with some “faulty” software. ;-)

  3. So, how long before the administration sells this to the Chinese?

  4. Lol, LC.
But they’ll probably just give it away…to the Egyptians, so they can do “Muslim Outreach” too. It’s only fair.

  5. In a way it is just an extension of the “fire and forget” weapons concept, but with a much longer range, and larger potential for unintended consequences from a malfunction, once “fired.”

Anyway, this type of system is inevitable. :-P

I thought the part of the article talking about the ethical implications of such weapons was purile.

  6. Outside of discussing customized hemorrhagic influenza viruses that will kill 100 percent of those exposed, chatter about the “ethics of weapons” is almost always childish, Sanyo.

  7. LC; what’s with the “sell” part…up to now they’ve just taken what they want.

  8. I’m beginning to hope for a zombie apocalypse…

  9. Skynet indeed SG. These weapons have their place, till they take our place. I don’t like them. They’ve been used against the muslim monkeys so far; how long before they are turned on us?

  10. If the drone is fully autonomous, I would recommend her to learn how to say “Vivat Allah” in Persian for the case that the Ayatollahs make her land again.

Yeah, So?
